East Coast Timber Co. is a bespoke joinery workshop located in Newcastle, New South Wales. We are passionate about Australia’s unique wildlife and ensure we only use recycled and sustainably sourced Australian Hardwood. Our mission is to deliver uncompromised timber products of quality and craftsmanship.

How it all began
Owen spent 10 years working as a Carpenter on award-winning homes in Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. With a passion for working with recycled hardwood, Owen began building small, one-off items from his home garage. With dreams of one day owning his own workshop, East Coast Timber Co. was conceived when the opportunity arose to take over a functioning joinery shop in Newcastle.
Owen believes his passion for producing uncompromised-quality items stems from one of the earliest lessons in his apprenticeship, over a decade ago. “I’ll never forget nailing two pieces of framing timber together, and they weren’t perfectly flush. I asked my boss (and now long-time mentor), Does that matter?”. He said simply, “Everything matters”. In that moment, the standard was set. Producing absolute quality was paramount.
